Child Care Assistant

Job title: Child Care Assistant Location: Poplar, London Setting: Mainstream secondary school Pay rate: £80-£90 per day (Depending on experience) Working hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm (Term time only) Active Recruitment are working with a fantastic Secondary school in the Poplar area who are recruiting for a Child Care Assistant to work alongside children in the classroom who require personal care involving gastrostomy tubes. The main duties of this role would be to provide additional learning support to KS3 and KS4 pupils throughout the lesson. It will require a candidate who has experience in Support Work, Care Homes, medical settings or schools, who is comfortable providing personal care and also assisting with the child's learning. A positive attitude, the ability to empathise and a willingness to develop and learn on the job Be calm, patient and caring approach to working with children Duties and responsibilities To provide 1:1 and group support to young learners across Key stage 3 and 4 who require physical support. To be comfortable assisting with the child's gastrostomy tubes, assisting in feeding. Provide feedback on childs progress to class teachers and parent Establish trusting relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs and personalities Prepare resources required for learning activities and assist pupils in their use Working with teachers to monitor progress of pupils If you are a Child Support Worker looking for a new opportunity within a reputable mainstream school, we would love to hear from you
