Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Location: Oldham Company Description: Our client is a leading specialist contractor who operate within the critical infrastucture sector. Offering the full turnkey solution; design & build, core & shell, they work across many sectors and projects, such as education, healthcare, banking, defence etc. Acting as principal contractor, they generally deal with end clients and work with many blue-chip companies in the UK and Europe. A typical project would be to oversee the installation of electrical & mechanical building services into data centre environments. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct thorough cost analysis and provide accurate estimates for construction projects. * Manage and monitor project budgets, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial guidelines. * Collaborate with project teams to assess and mitigate potential risks related to cost and contracts. * Prepare and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers. * Provide ongoing financial updates and reports to project stakeholders. * Conduct occasional site visits (this is largely an office-based role) to assess progress, identify variations, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations. * Work closely with the project management team to optimize financial performance and achieve project objectives. Qualifications and Skills: * Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field. * Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor * Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and procurement processes. NEC & JCT contract experience advantageous. * Excellent communication and negotiation skills. * Proficient in the use of relevant software tools for quantity surveying. * Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
