Principal Engineer (Data Centre)

JOB OVERVIEW To act as the lead engineer for a multi-disciplined team. To manage client relationships and assist in the ongoing development and growth of the business as a whole. To provide sound technical, design and contract management support on mechanical or electrical building services engineering disciplines, to ensure project requirements and clients’ specifications are fully met. Offer advice and guidance to staff within the discipline. ROLE REQUIREMENTS (Professional & Technical Expertise) ▪ Results orientated individual with strong problem solving, technical realisation and coordination skills. ▪ Has a relevant degree in electrical or mechanical building services engineering, or equivalent qualification, or sufficient suitable experience. ▪ Able to demonstrate extensive experience of a wide range of technical areas. ▪ Sound level of knowledge at Principal Engineer level and managing a team (see Roles and Responsibilities matrix for further details) ▪ Associate or student member of an appropriate professional body, such as CIBSE, IET, MinstMC, MIHEEM. ▪ Achieved or working towards Chartered Engineer status. ▪ Technical knowledge in primary discipline and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process. ▪ Appreciation of complementary specialisms such as acoustics, fire engineering and computer modeling in the design of buildings. ▪ Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills both verbal and written. You will have proven ability in negotiating positive outcomes, resource planning, motivation and management. ▪ Proven track record of setting and managing budgets, understanding profit and loss and making sound financial decisions. ▪ Team-builder, able to support the team through training and mentoring. ▪ Track record of having worked on a variety of Building Services Designs and the delivery of small to large scale projects in a variety o
