Job Description To ensure that the service is being delivered in line with current legislation, policies and initiatives set by the UK and Scottish Governments and local policy with regard to the benefit appeals system. Respond to and investigate complaints and MP/MSP enquiries in respect of the benefit service in line with corporate policy. To co-ordinate and manage the development of Benefit Policy, strategies, procedures, performance and information to enable continuous improvement across the Benefit Service. Requirements Responsible for the administration of Benefit Appeals. Administration of Benefit Complaints and MP/MSP Enquiries. Develop, review and monitor the implementation of Benefit legislation within the Benefits Service ensuring that procedures, policies and strategies are fully compliant. Identify, consider and monitor welfare reform issues ensuring that procedures, policies and Service strategies are fully compliant. Assist and support the Benefits & Money Advice Manager with the effective operation of the benefit service as and when required. System Administration, Records Maintenance, Support and Development. Management Information and Development. System Administration, Records Maintenance and Support and Development. Staff support, development and supervision. The Individual Investigation, Interpretation or Application of Statutory Legislation. Supervision of staff. SVQ3/HNC or demonstrable experience. Evidence of continuing professional development. Experience of Microsoft Office systems, including Word and Excel. Ability to prioritise workload and deal with multiple enquiries. Problem solving skills. Ability to cope and work under pressure and deal with competing demands. Ability to meet deadlines and personal performance targets. Must be able to cope with and adapt to change.
