Job Title: Power Systems Design Lead Salary: up to £65,000 per annum dependent upon experience + 10% bonus Location: Chelmsford or Cowes (Isle of Wight) We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a Power Systems Design Lead. The role can be based in either Chelmsford or Cowes (Isle of Wight) and offers the opportunity for hybrid working (2- 3 days per week on site) and flexible working hours. They work at the cutting edge of technology, creating more than 100 new inventions every year for customers in over 100 countries. You will be joining the Radar Development team who are embarking on new and cutting edge technology developments for the future generation of Radar and Sensor Systems. This role has the potential to span across teams delivering to customers in both the UK and Export market, from early stage technology development through to supporting a fleet of in-service systems. Main Responsibilities: We can accommodate varying levels of experience and the role holder will undertake some or all of the following tasks :- * Design of AC & DC power generation and distribution systems including sizing, protection, control, and the specification of power supplies and converters. This covers design and/or specification of an electrical supply system from 440V AC to circuit board voltage rails * Motor drives, control, and positioning systems * EMC management and verification * Specification of bespoke procured hardware and management of associated sub-contractor development programmes * Design verification using a combination of simulation, analysis, and test techniques including support to EMC test houses and customer installations * Generate design documentation and technical reports * Interfacing with related disciplines * Adherence to Engineering Lifecycle and contributing to progress, peer, and design reviews * Provide Electrical Engineering expertise to the project team Benefits: * Enhance
