Quality Assurance Technician Location: 30B Optimus Way, Glenfield, Leicester LE3 8JR Shift Pattern: 4 On / 4 Off, 6am – 6pm Salary: Competitive The Role QA Technicians are the key ingredient to our recipe for success at Geary’s. You’re responsible for monitoring our processes against site procedures through regular auditing and supporting interdepartmental teams, providing clear and accurate advice. In maintaining our due diligence, you ensure our bread is not only delicious but also meets food safety, product integrity and quality requirements. Your main responsibilities include: * Creating and maintaining accurate, audit-ready, site and product specific documentation to guide our teams in meeting required standards * Reviewing all production paperwork, confirming information in real time, that it is completed accurately and in full * Identifying any areas of improvement or additional training needs related to paperwork completion * Conducting legal compliance verification checks on site wide equipment (such as temperature probes, scales and fridges) against a defined schedule, escalating any out of spec results and assisting in investigation and corrective action implementation * Conducting GMP/Glass and Hard Plastic and Fabrication audits to ensure hygiene levels are maintained, working with department leads to assess compliance and improve standards where necessary * Reporting audit findings within the Internal Audit Procedure * Completing PQE sessions to confirm product conforms to food safety, quality and customer requirements * Conducting sampling and swabbing against site risk assessed schedules; leading investigations when out of spec result is received to confirm cause and corrective and preventative measures as outlined in non-conformance procedure * Acting as subject matter expert for CCP controls, weight controls (in line with Weights and Measures Act 1985) and food safety and quality standards, delivering training and support to colleagues on all
