Sex Worker Safety Hub

Our Sex Worker Safety Hub is here for people of all ages and races working in the sex industry. It contains information on how to stay safe as a sex worker, whether you work from your own home, your client’s or even online.

Here at Vivastreet your safety and well-being are our top priorities and we aim to provide you with the best advice to protect your personal safety. From tips on how to stay safe as a sex worker to how to avoid timewasters, we are here to support you along the way.

Sex workers face many challenges and according to our 2022 survey, timewasters, price haggling and clients refusing to use protection, were the top 3 issues sex workers have to deal with, along with various forms of abuse.

To enhance the safety of sex workers in the UK, there are leading organisations doing great work. These include:

  • National Ugly Mugs (NUM) is a UK-wide charity working with sex workers to do research, design and deliver safety tools and provide support services to people in adult industries.
  • ClientEye enables sex workers to report timewasters, no-shows, nuisance calls, and abusive and dangerous clients with fellow app users.
  • NUMbrella Lane provides a safe space for the needs and rights of sex workers across Scotland, also offering dedicated services to help keep you safe.

The right for better protection for sex workers continues. If you’re concerned about your safety, read our articles and advice on how to stay safe as a sex worker below.
