Keep reading to learn more.

What is feedism?

Basically put, feedism is a kink wherein people derive sexual pleasure by being fed or feeding someone else. That said, feedists (people who practise feedism) also sometimes describe it as a fetish or a lifestyle. People in the community usually play one of two roles – feeders and feedees.

As the names suggest, a feeder is the person who feeds food, while a feedee is the person that receives the food. People can explore this kink with their partner or alone as their reality or explore it solely as a fantasy. And like any sex act, you can practice feedism in your own ways that both you and your partner are comfortable with.

Feedists derive sexual satisfaction from many things. For some, seeing people eating certain foods turn them on; for others, seeing a partner’s bloated body after overeating is what gets them off. And for others, it’s overeating and watching their partner’s reaction that gets them interested in the kink.

While there are many ways to practise and play with feedism, it’s very important that all the sexual activities, eating, and weight gain in these scenes should be consensual. It’s always important that you only practise sexual acts wherein both you and your partner are satisfied and willing to try it out.

Is feedism only about weight gain?

While weight gain is a major component of feedism, it isn’t the only aspect of it. It celebrates people with larger bodies, but it doesn’t always have to do with gaining weight. There are numerous ways to explore feedism without weight gain which puts a focus on the act of eating and the types of food the person is eating as opposed to the weight gained.

Feedism and eating disorders

One concern that many people have about feedism is its relationship to eating disorders. There are many people with eating disorders wherein they are constantly overeating, which can be unhealthy for their mental and physical health. There are also cases wherein someone wants to explore feedism with their partner, which triggers an old eating disorder and causes a range of problems.

This is why it’s important to take a lot of care when practising feedism. And if you believe you have an eating disorder, always try to seek help to help you manage the condition.

Common feedism terms

There are quite a few common terms you may hear or read about in the feedist community. And before getting into the kink, it’s important to understand the terms and roles involved. Some of the common terms in this community include:

  • Feedist – someone who practises feedism
  • Feeder – the person feeding the food
  • Feedee – the person receiving the food
  • Gaining – refers to when someone starts putting on weight
  • Stuffing – the act of overeating and its subsequent effects like bloating and lethargy
  • Measuring – the act of keeping a daily diary of what a person eats or what they were fed
  • Supersized – a term used to describe anyone larger than a size 26
  • Gainer – another term used for the feedee in the LGBTQ community
  • Encourager – another term for the feeder in the LGBTQ community

Feedism and sex work – can you make it your source of income?

There are many people making a living off of feedism and there are many ways to do this. It can also be incorporated into your fetish modelling career. There are individuals who eat and overeat on camera, those that highlight their plus-sized figure in erotic pictures and videos, or even those that meet up with feedists and partake in the kink with them.

While you can make it a source of your income, it’s important to be careful when doing so. Overeating can lead to health problems when you do it too much, so make sure to look after your body if you choose to make a living out of it.

How feedism ties into BDSM

Before you start exploring feedism, it’s important to understand its ties to BDSM. And while you can incorporate it into BDSM play rather easily, it doesn’t have to go with BDSM. With BDSM, people take on the role of either the sub or the dom. This can go hand-in-hand with feedism, as the feeder can be seen as the dom, and the feedee can be seen as the sub.

A great example of this is when a person stuffs their partner with food and tells them what to eat. In this situation, the feeder is a sort of dominant character while the feedee is a sort of sub. However, this isn’t always the case.

There are many people in the community that don’t explore BDSM. For some people, feedism is more than just a sex act and is more of an orientation and way of life. In these cases, the people don’t usually take on submissive and dominant roles, which is why feedism can exist outside of BDSM.

Online feedism communities

If you’re looking to get into feedism but don’t know how to practise it, there are communities you can check out. These are sex-positive and supportive communities that can help you explore this kink and learn more about practising it safely and consensually.

Some online feedism communities include:

Aside from allowing you to learn more about the fetish, these sites also allow you to find people with similar interests. These are great communities for feedists to join, where they can discuss their fantasies and explore them safely and without judgement.

How does it work in a relationship, and how do you discuss it with your partner?

Feedism can work in a relationship. However, it requires a conversation with your partner. If you want to bring it up with your partner, it’s best to approach them honestly and tell them about your interest. When they ask questions, be open when answering them and assure them of your feelings.

Sometimes, partners will be down to explore feedist fantasies, but this isn’t always the case. Since it involves gaining weight (which is a very sensitive issue for some people), not everyone wants to explore it. And if your partner doesn’t want to explore it, make sure to respect their wishes and not push the issue.

Feedism is a fetish that revolves around eating. It usually deals with people overeating and the effects of overeating, like a bloated belly and lethargy, but it can also involve getting sexually aroused from the weight gain resulting from overeating. There are many people that are part of feedism communities online, and it could be something you may want to explore yourself, with a partner or as an alternative source of income.
